Settlement health checklist
- Workers can reach their jobs, inputs, tools, food, and storage.
- Essential production has enough input stock to survive short interruptions.
- Finished goods have available storage and sensible destinations.
- Food production covers the population without consuming every worker.
- Construction is paced so it does not starve current production.
- New recruits have a defined job before they increase demand.
Diagnose the bottleneck
When output falls, check the chain in order: worker assignment → required tool → input supply → hauling distance → available storage → output demand. The visible workstation is often where a problem appears, not where it begins.
